Print then cut size limits, machine by machine
Print then cut lets you print a design on a home inkjet printer and have the cutter trim around it, which is how most people make stickers. The printed image always has to be smaller than the paper, because the page needs margins and room for the sensor marks.
Cricut's published limits
These are Cricut's figures from its help center, updated August 19, 2026. "Tall x wide" means the image's height and width on a page fed in portrait orientation.

The Cricut Venture supports all of these plus larger sheets, including 12 x 18 in, 13 x 19 in and A2, up to 26.94 x 22.94 in, per the same help article. For the Joy 2, Cricut says Design Space splits a page across two mats.
What this means for sticker sheets
Worked example: 2-inch round stickers per Letter page
Each sticker plus a 0.1 in gap needs 2.1 in.
- Explore, Maker or Joy Xtra (9.94 x 7.44 in): 3 across (7.44 / 2.1 = 3.5) and 4 down (9.94 / 2.1 = 4.7) = 12 stickers.
- Joy 2 (9.94 x 3.19 in): 1 across (3.19 / 2.1 = 1.5) and 4 down = 4 stickers per mat.
- Explore or Maker on Tabloid (15.94 x 9.94 in): 4 across (9.94 / 2.1 = 4.7) and 7 down (15.94 / 2.1 = 7.6) = 28 stickers, if your printer takes Tabloid paper.

Silhouette machines
Silhouette's product pages for the Silhouette CAMEO 5 Alpha and Silhouette Portrait 4 describe registration-mark print and cut. The CAMEO 5 Alpha uses a four-point mark system. We didn't find a published maximum print-and-cut area for either, so we don't list one. We'll add it when Silhouette publishes one.
Rules that apply to every Cricut
- Print on white, light or simply patterned materials. Cricut warns that dark, high-gloss and holographic materials can confuse the sensor.
- Use an inkjet printer. Cricut says laser printers aren't for heat-sensitive materials.
- Don't let the printer scale the page. Cricut says to turn off fit-to-page and shrink-to-fit and print at the highest quality.
- Finish in one session on one device. Print Then Cut also needs an internet connection, even in Design Space's offline mode.
